Accommodation
Our accommodation consists of a beautifully decorated, 5-bedroom house, with CCTV installed in all the communal areas, a meeting room, a robust A* fire alarm system, smoke alarms and equipment. On each floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom - so only two people share each bathroom.
There is a communal kitchen, lounge-diner, and separate meeting room, a separate hub that is used for education in the day and a chill area in the evening to study or read.
All communal areas, the hub and meeting room areas have CCTV.
There is a small garden with seating and an extra downstairs toilet.
Staff have their own sleeping bedroom on the top floor.
We can offer placements for 4 young persons. Each will have a private bedroom with a single bed, wardrobe, draws, TV, fridge freezer, cupboard for food storage, desk and chair, and lamp, clothes basket, and waste recycle bin.
On arrival we give each young person a welcome pack, which contains brand new linen, quilt and pillows, flannel, towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, and sanitary products. They will also receive a basic food starter pack of plates, bowls, cutlery, glasses and mugs.
We also have a range of new clothes in various sizes.
Location
Our accommodation is conveniently situated in a friendly and quite area of Colchester. A bus stop is just 3 minutes’ walk away, and frequent buses go directly into town, which is just a 10-minute journey. Colchester is well-served for education, it has great leisure Centre’s, exercise gyms, leisure activities, parks, youth Centre’s, and social activities such as bowling and cinema. Also Counselling services, health services, the hospital and police station are also nearby.
Just a few minutes’ walk either side from the property is a convenience store and a Lidl supermarket, which is open 10am-10pm seven days a week and has a post office attached. On the adjacent side close by are other shops such as a hairdressers, chemist, and supermarket. GP and dental services is just a 10-minute walk.
There are nature reserves, fishing lakes, beautiful countryside and woods with walking and cycling routes, all conveniently located in close proximity,
Colchester Zoo is a 10-minute bus journey and Mersea beach is a 20-minute bus ride.
