About the team
Blossom Living was formed through a collaboration of family and colleagues who have been working with looked after vulnerable children and young persons for over 20 years.
Understanding that young people aged 16-18 who, for whatever reasons, find themselves in the position of needing urgent accommodation, the skills to help them become independent and in need of extra support for their wellbeing, our experience of existing provision was disheartening, given the fact that services are unregulated and given the aspirations of young persons at this age.
We knew that, between us, we could create something quite significant, with the young person’s needs, wishes and feelings at the forefront.
Through our own personal and direct experiences of working with young people and through our recent research, Blossom Living was formed.
Safer staff Recruitment
We have a robust Safer Staff hiring system. Following our comprehensive interview process and personal identify checks, we arrange for potential employees to be screened and vetted by the ‘UK Employee Checks’ Company (Global House, 1 Ashley Ave, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 5AD. Tel. 01372 279 276)
The following checks are completed:
• Enhanced DBS
• ID checks
• 5-year employment history and breaks
• UK residency
• Right to work in UK
• References checks
• Qualification checks
